Ukraine Deploys 7,000–9,000 Drones Daily Against Russian Attacks Amid Energy Crisis
Ukraine is deploying between seven and nine thousand drones daily for defense, reconnaissance, and logistics, continually expanding its drone capabilities including interceptor drones to counter Russian attacks. The UK has supplied Ukraine with over 85,000 drones in six months, and the U.S. is discussing production of Ukrainian drones in Europe or America for its military needs. Meanwhile, Russia has intensified drone and missile attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, especially in the northern Chernihiv and Sumy regions, causing widespread blackouts and complicating repair efforts by deliberately hovering drones over damaged sites to prolong the crisis. These attacks have led to mass power outages affecting millions, with Ukrainian officials accusing Russia of "weaponizing winter" by targeting energy facilities ahead of the cold season, a charge Moscow denies. Ukrainian forces continue active resistance against Russian invasions, particularly in the east, engaging in numerous combat clashes and air strikes to defend their territory. Additionally, Russian pollution has caused significant environmental damage, including a massive fish die-off in Ukraine's rivers.
