Over 1,000 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Forces and Settlers Since October Including Numerous Children
Israeli forces have been involved in multiple deadly incidents in the occupied West Bank, killing Palestinian children and young adults amid ongoing military raids and settler violence. Nine-year-old Muhammad al-Hallaq was shot and killed while playing football in the village of al-Rihiya, south of Hebron, leaving his family devastated and drawing condemnation from the United Nations Human Rights Office. An 18-year-old Palestinian, Mohammad Ahmad Khamis Abu Hanin, was fatally shot during an Israeli incursion into the New Askar refugee camp near Nablus, which also sparked protests and further violence. The Israeli military has conducted widespread operations across the West Bank, arresting dozens and confiscating weapons, while settlers have been reported destroying Palestinian property near Ramallah. Since the start of the year, at least 222 Palestinians, including 40 children, have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank, highlighting a severe escalation in violence despite a fragile ceasefire in Gaza. Additionally, in Gaza, explosive remnants from Israeli bombardments continue to cause fatalities and injuries among Palestinian children, underscoring the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
