Body of Trump Shooter Cremated, Higgins Criticizes FBI

Rep. Clay Higgins has criticized the FBI for releasing the body of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter in the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, for cremation just 10 days after the incident. Higgins, who is part of the House Bipartisan Task Force investigating the July 13 shooting, noted that this action obstructed further investigation efforts. The congressman attempted to examine Crooks' body on August 5, only to discover it had already been cremated, a fact unknown even to local authorities. The FBI's actions were described as 'unheard of,' with criticisms focusing on the premature cleanup of biological evidence and the lack of transparency. Crooks, who had no significant digital footprint, fired eight shots from a rooftop, injuring Trump and two others, and killing a bystander before being shot dead by law enforcement.
