Texas Man Arrested for Assault on D.C. Flight

A Texas man, Asterius Mutayoba Rulamka, was arrested by the FBI after allegedly assaulting a passenger and threatening a flight attendant on an American Airlines flight from Wichita to Washington, D.C. on March 5. This incident occurred on the same route as a crash that killed 67 people five weeks prior. Rulamka allegedly left his seat, berated a flight attendant, and attacked a passenger who was filming him, causing injuries. He also attempted to strike another passenger and a flight attendant before being subdued by other passengers and crew members. Upon arrest, Rulamka claimed he was traveling to speak to President Donald Trump because he was 'mad.' Rulamka faces federal assault charges and has pending immigration proceedings from a previous visa overstay.
