Second Dallas School Shooting in One Year
A 17-year-old student, Tracy Haynes Jr., is accused of entering Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas through an unsecured door and shooting multiple students shortly after 1 p.m. Surveillance footage and affidavits confirm Haynes fired indiscriminately at a group of male students, injuring five students aged 14 to 18. Three victims suffered gunshot wounds, one sustained a musculoskeletal injury, and a 14-year-old girl was treated for anxiety-related symptoms. Haynes turned himself in later that day and is being held on a $600,000 bond, facing charges of aggravated assault mass shooting. Metal detectors were reportedly in use but failed to prevent the weapon's entry, raising concerns about the effectiveness of security protocols. This incident marks the second shooting at the school in the past year, increasing concerns among students and parents.
