KFC HQ Moving to Plano in 18 Months

Yum! Brands announced that KFC will relocate its U.S. corporate headquarters from Louisville, Kentucky, to Plano, Texas, over the next 18 months. This shift will affect 100 corporate workers, who are expected to move, and an additional 90 remote workers who will need to relocate. The decision, aimed at fostering collaboration by consolidating operations with Pizza Hut in Plano, has drawn criticism from Kentucky leaders, including Governor Andy Beshear and Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg, who expressed disappointment due to KFC's historical and cultural ties to the state. Despite the move, Yum! Brands will maintain some corporate offices and a flagship restaurant in Louisville. Yum! also announced a $1 million endowment to the University of Louisville’s College of Business as part of its continued commitment to the region. The relocation is part of Yum!'s broader strategy to streamline its U.S. operations with just two headquarters, the other in Irvine, California.
