China Open to Cooperation With US Firms Amid Boeing Dispute
China's Ministry of Commerce has voiced concern over U.S.-imposed tariffs, highlighting that both Chinese airlines and Boeing have suffered significant harm due to the trade war. The tariffs have disrupted global supply chains and destabilized the international air transport market, leading Chinese airlines to halt new Boeing orders and requiring approval for pending deliveries. In response, Boeing has started returning planes originally destined for Chinese customers to the U.S. market. Despite these tensions, China has expressed its willingness to support normal business cooperation with American firms and urged the U.S. to foster a stable and predictable environment for trade and investment. Analysts note that the steep tariffs make importing U.S.-made aircraft impractical for China, further complicating bilateral economic relations. The Chinese ministry emphasized the longstanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the aviation sector and called for both countries to listen to business concerns to ease trade tensions.
