Kimberly-Clark Slashes 2025 Outlook Amid Tariffs
Kimberly-Clark reported first-quarter 2025 earnings with adjusted EPS of $1.93, surpassing analyst expectations, but revenue fell 6% year-over-year to $4.84 billion, missing estimates. The company sharply reduced its full-year profit outlook, now forecasting adjusted operating profit and EPS to be 'flat to positive' on a constant-currency basis, compared to its previous expectation of high single-digit growth. Rising global supply-chain costs, tariffs, and a more uncertain geopolitical environment were cited as key headwinds. Price reductions and softening demand impacted sales, particularly in major segments. Despite some relief from a weakening U.S. dollar, management warned of continued negative currency translation impacts. Shares fell between 3% and 5% after the results and revised guidance.
