Fires in Maryland, Texas: Deaths, Firefighter Injuries

A tragic house fire in Waldorf, Maryland, resulted in three fatalities and left three others missing, with rescue operations ongoing and the cause still undetermined. Separately, a 3-alarm fire broke out at the under-construction Health Science Center on Texas Woman’s University’s Denton campus, prompting a large response from local and neighboring fire departments. The Denton fire started just after 10 a.m. and was contained to the attic and roof area by 11 a.m. No injuries were reported among construction workers, but multiple firefighters suffered heat exhaustion, and at least two required hospitalization.
