Xi Jinping Promotes Stable China-Russia Strategic Partnership Amid Global Security Concerns

Xi recalled recent commemorations of World War II victories by both nations and called for deepened strategic trust, cooperation, and solidarity with Global South countries to promote a just international order. He stressed the importance of legislative cooperation as part of their comprehensive strategic partnership and urged joint efforts to safeguard security and development interests. Additionally, Xi underscored the need for united resistance against Western influence and true multilateralism, coinciding with preparations for Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Beijing for a security forum and military parade. Meanwhile, Russia is collaborating with China on advanced military technology, including the development of an amphibious operations control system called Sword, which analysts interpret as preparation for potential conflict over Taiwan. Despite these military developments, Xi reportedly assured US President Donald Trump personally that China has no plans to use force against Taiwan as long as Trump remains in power, though Trump has warned of potential sanctions and tariffs if progress is not made on the Ukraine conflict and rare earth supplies.
