Ogles and Jan. 6 Probe Announced by House Speaker

The OCE has recommended a full House Ethics Committee investigation, citing substantial reasons to believe he misrepresented financial disclosures and accepted excessive contributions. Ogles has been uncooperative with the investigation but amended his disclosures following an FBI search. The investigation also involves another lawmaker, Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, for alleged improper campaign finance activities. Both cases highlight ongoing concerns about the conduct and transparency of congressional financial practices.
