DoorDash Expands Drone Delivery Across Dallas-Fort Worth

DoorDash has launched a full-scale drone delivery service in partnership with Flytrex in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, specifically serving Little Elm and Frisco after a successful pilot program that completed over 1,000 deliveries. The service is accessible via the DoorDash app, allowing customers to order from dozens of local and national restaurants, such as Papa John's and The Brass Tap, with daily operation from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Covering more than 30,000 households and 100,000 residents, the drones currently carry payloads up to 6.6 pounds, the largest in the area, with plans for 8.8-pound capacity in future models. Flytrex's advanced traffic control system enables efficient and safe drone flights, supporting overlapping service areas. Deliveries are typically completed in under five minutes within a 2.5-mile radius. DoorDash plans to further expand the drone delivery service across the Dallas-Fort Worth region, reinforcing its role as an innovator in autonomous delivery.
