Reoptimize Systems Seeks £1 Million for Wind Turbine Efficiency Expansion

Reoptimize Systems, an Edinburgh-based company, is seeking to raise £1 million to enhance wind farm efficiency with its innovative technology that optimizes turbine performance through data-driven software. The company has demonstrated an average increase of 2.3% in energy production across its six pilot projects in five countries, without needing hardware changes, potentially tapping into a £1.5 billion global opportunity. Meanwhile, the Highland Council has approved the offshore plans for the West of Orkney Windfarm, a multi-billion pound project aiming to deliver up to 2GW of clean power by 2030. This joint venture between Corio Generation, TotalEnergies, and Renewable Infrastructure Development Group has made significant progress with its offshore consent application, and the council's support is seen as a crucial step towards final approval. With the project expected to include up to 125 turbines, it aims to not only generate renewable energy but also stimulate economic benefits for the region.
