Trump's niece alleges secret White House bunker upgrades amid ballroom construction

President Donald Trump is reportedly using the demolition of the East Wing and the construction of his $300 million ballroom to secretly upgrade the White House bunker, known as the President's Emergency Operations Center. The East Wing, traditionally the first lady's office area, also housed the emergency bunker which is now undergoing enhancements managed by the White House Military Office. Trump's niece, Mary Trump, has publicly criticized him as "paranoid" and a "coward," suggesting that he decided to revamp the bunker after being taken there during the George Floyd protests in 2020. Mary Trump also speculated that some of the $350 million raised in donations for the ballroom construction might be redirected to bunker upgrades. President Trump hinted that excess funds from the ballroom project could be used for a large arch structure called the Arc de Trump. This renovation has drawn attention due to the unexpected demolition of the East Wing and the secrecy surrounding the bunker enhancements.
