Mexico Prepares Tent Shelters for Trump's Mass Deportations

Mexican authorities are rapidly constructing tent shelters in Ciudad Juárez and other border cities in anticipation of a potential influx of deported Mexicans due to U.S. President Donald Trump's promised mass deportations. The shelters, part of the 'Mexico embraces you' initiative, aim to provide essential services like food, medical care, and temporary housing for deported individuals. President Claudia Sheinbaum highlighted that Mexico will not formally adopt the 'Remain in Mexico' policy but will offer humanitarian aid to both Mexican nationals and migrants from other countries. The first center in Ciudad Juárez is expected to be operational soon and can accommodate up to 2,500 people. Additionally, the Mexican government is preparing a fleet of buses to transport deportees back to their hometowns. The initiative reflects Mexico's commitment to supporting its citizens while managing the logistical challenges posed by a large-scale deportation effort.
