Democrats Increase Majority on Michigan Supreme Court

In the recent elections, Michigan Republicans secured at least four of the six contested university board seats, with the outcome for one Michigan State University seat still unresolved. Concurrently, Democrats expanded their majority on the Michigan Supreme Court to 5-2 by winning both contested seats. Elissa Slotkin, a Democrat, defeated Republican Mike Rogers, maintaining the Democratic hold on Michigan's Senate seat. In Indiana, all three Supreme Court justices up for retention were successfully retained, despite a campaign against them due to their support of the state’s abortion ban. Arizona's Supreme Court justices, Clint Bolick and Kathryn King, also retained their seats, with efforts to remove them focusing on their rulings upholding an 1864 abortion ban. These results reflect a mix of partisan shifts and continuities in various judicial and legislative races across key states.
