Learjet Medevac Crash in Philadelphia Kills Six

A tragic plane crash occurred in Northeast Philadelphia when a medevac Learjet 55, carrying six Mexican nationals, including a young girl and her mother, crashed shortly after taking off from the Northeast Philadelphia Airport en route to Missouri. The crash resulted in a massive explosion that set several homes ablaze near Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue. All six individuals aboard, including four crew members, are presumed dead, and several people on the ground were injured. The child patient was returning home to Mexico after receiving life-saving treatment at Shriners Children's Philadelphia. The incident marks the second fatal crash for Jet Rescue Air Ambulance in 15 months. The crash occurred just days after a devastating mid-air collision involving an American Airlines jet and an Army helicopter in Washington, D.C., which had no survivors.
