Stellantis Delays Ram 1500 REV to 2026

Stellantis has postponed the launch of its all-electric Ram 1500 REV truck to 2026, citing slow industry demand for electric vehicles, high interest rates, inadequate charging infrastructure, and anticipating potential policy shifts under President-elect Donald Trump. Significant consumer interest in the hybrid Ram 1500 Ramcharger, which combines a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a 92 kWh battery pack to extend the truck's range to 690 miles, has also influenced this decision. The Ramcharger will be available for orders in the first half of 2025 and reflects a broader industry trend as automakers face challenges with electrification. The Ram 1500 REV, originally planned for a 2025 launch, aims to compete with current market offerings like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T. Stellantis' Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan will handle production for these electrified models.
