Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Simone Biles Win 2025 ESPYs in Los Angeles

At the 2025 ESPYs held at the Dolby Theatre, Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was honored as the Best Male Athlete and Best NBA Player following a historic season where he led his team to an NBA championship and received the league MVP and Finals MVP awards. Olympic gymnastics star Simone Biles was named Best Female Athlete and received Best Championship Performance for her stellar showing at the Paris Games, where she won three golds and a silver, helping the U.S. secure its first team title since 2016. Suni Lee earned the Best Comeback award after overcoming two rare kidney diseases to win Olympic team gold and individual medals. The event also recognized basketball legend Oscar Robertson with the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage for his pioneering role in securing player rights through a landmark NBA antitrust lawsuit. Other notable winners included Ilona Maher (Best Breakthrough Athlete), Alex Ovechkin (Best Record-Breaking Performance), and the Philadelphia Eagles (Best Team).
