The Frisco City Council has unanimously approved a $182 million renovation plan for Toyota Stadium and its surrounding area, with construction starting in January 2025 and slated for completion by 2028. The project includes adding 3,400 seats, bringing the stadium's capacity to 22,500, and installing a new lighting system, audio-visual upgrades, and a 144-foot video screen, the largest in any MLS soccer-specific stadium. The renovation will also feature three new clubs, expanded concession options, and an iconic roof structure providing shade for all seats. Outside the stadium, a mixed-use development will include a 200-room hotel, retail and restaurant spaces, and a multi-family high-rise building. Funding will come from the Hunt family, Frisco city entities, and private investors, with the Hunt family contributing $65 million. FC Dallas games will continue during the renovation, and the team has extended its lease at the stadium through 2057.
