Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem had her purse stolen while dining with family at a Washington, D.C. restaurant, describing the incident as 'professionally done.' The thief, wearing a medical mask, used his foot to drag the purse from under Noem's chair and covered it with a coat before taking it, while Noem initially believed one of her grandchildren had brushed against her leg. The stolen bag contained $3,000 in cash, her DHS access card, passport, government identification, apartment keys, and other personal items. Noem explained the cash was intended for family Easter celebrations and dinner. The Secret Service is investigating the theft, and Noem highlighted that such crimes are common and underscore the vulnerability many people feel in urban environments. She stated she was unsure if she was targeted due to her high-profile position.
