Ukraine Accuses Russia of Systematic Recruitment of Chinese Nationals

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that Russia is actively recruiting Chinese citizens to fight in Ukraine, with at least 155 identified already enlisted. He stated that these individuals are being recruited through social media platforms like TikTok and undergo military training in Moscow before deployment. Following the capture of two Chinese nationals fighting for Russia, Zelensky accused the Chinese government of being aware of this recruitment, prompting Ukraine to demand an official explanation from Beijing. In response, China's foreign ministry dismissed these allegations as unfounded and reiterated its stance urging citizens to avoid involvement in armed conflicts. The Kremlin has also denied Zelensky's claims, asserting that Russia does not drag China into the conflict. Ukraine is currently seeking clarification on the situation, which raises concerns about China's purported neutrality in the war.
