Two Arrested After Memphis Gas Station Robbery

Two suspects, Laquarius King and Daibrieell Mackie, were arrested following a high-speed police chase that began after they allegedly robbed the Star Shell gas station in Memphis at gunpoint. The robbery occurred around 2:20 p.m. on October 2, during which King fired a shot inside the store before fleeing with cash in a gold Mitsubishi Mirage driven by Mackie. The police pursuit ended when the suspects crashed into two other vehicles at the intersection of Summer Avenue and Memphis-Arlington Road in Bartlett, although no injuries were reported. Both suspects attempted to escape on foot but were apprehended with the assistance of local police. King faces multiple charges including aggravated robbery and reckless endangerment, while Mackie is charged with similar offenses including intentionally evading arrest. Witnesses expressed shock at the violent turn of events in their community.
