Illegal Venezuelan Migrant Pleads Guilty in Missouri Crash Killing Boy

Endrina Bracho, a Venezuelan illegal migrant, pleaded guilty to first-degree involuntary manslaughter and two counts of second-degree assault for causing a December 2023 wrong-way crash in Hazelwood, Missouri, that killed 11-year-old Travis Wolfe just before his 12th birthday. Bracho was driving 75 mph — 35 mph over the speed limit — when she crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with Wolfe's family's vehicle, injuring multiple family members including her own children. Wolfe was on life support for several months before dying on March 6, 2024. Prosecutors have recommended up to 27 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for September 2025. The case drew attention from Republican Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, who blamed President Biden's border policies and introduced "Travis’s Law," aimed at detaining illegal aliens who commit crimes like those Bracho committed. Bracho entered a blind plea, meaning she pleaded guilty without a sentencing agreement, and some charges related to child endangerment and traffic offenses were dropped.
