Ukraine, EU, US Coordinate Peace Positions Ahead Putin-Trump Summit

Ukraine, together with European allies, has developed a peace plan proposing a mutual exchange of territories to end the ongoing war, emphasizing that Ukraine's future must be decided with its full involvement. European and Baltic states' foreign ministers underscored their unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, rejecting any forced border changes or rewards for aggression. Ahead of the scheduled August 15 summit in Alaska between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, representatives from Ukraine, Europe, and the US are meeting in the UK to coordinate a common position and ensure Ukraine's interests are protected. Concerns persist among Ukraine and NATO allies that Trump might agree to Putin's conditions, which reportedly include Ukraine ceding parts of eastern Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea, without fully considering Ukraine's stance. Ukrainian officials reaffirm that any territorial concessions would require a referendum under the Ukrainian Constitution, and Kyiv has expressed firm opposition to giving up its territories. Meanwhile, Ukrainian sources allege that Russia and the US have already made agreements behind Ukraine's back, prompting efforts to disrupt or respond to these developments ahead of the Trump-Putin meeting.
