State Fair of Texas Announces 2025 Big Tex Choice Awards Winners

The 2025 Big Tex Choice Awards at the State Fair of Texas announced four winners showcasing innovative and delicious fair food. The savory winner, Crab & Mozzarella Arancini, features handcrafted rice balls made with Maryland Blue Crab, mozzarella, herbs, and fried to a crispy golden finish, served with marinara sauce. The sweet category was won by Chill & Thrill Delight, a vibrant fruit cup inspired by Colombia’s Salpicon de Frutas, consisting of diced tropical fruits soaked in watermelon juice and topped with shaved mango sorbet. The Cookie Chaos Milkshake took the sipper category, delivering a rich cookie butter milkshake loaded with various cookies and topped with whipped cream and a Biscoff® cookie. Additionally, the Wagyu Bacon Cheeseburger Deviled Egg Sliders were recognized, highlighting a creative fusion of flavors in a slider format. This year's competition saw a record 76 entries and introduced the new sipper category, with finalists judged on uniqueness, creativity, presentation, and taste.
