California DMV Recalls Offensive License Plate

The plate, bearing 'LOLOCT7', was spotted on a Tesla Cybertruck in Los Angeles and interpreted as celebrating the attack that resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 Israelis and the abduction of 250. The DMV's oversight was flagged by StopAntisemitism, prompting widespread public outrage. In response, the DMV described the plate as 'unacceptable and disturbing', announced immediate action to recall the plate, and pledged to strengthen its review processes to prevent such errors in the future. The vehicle owner will be notified of the recall and may appeal the decision. The DMV also plans to examine its database for other potentially offensive content.
