Palm Beach County Renames Roadway for Trump After Official Approval

Palm Beach County commissioners are set to vote on renaming a four-mile stretch of Southern Boulevard near President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence as "President Donald J. Trump Boulevard." This move follows a Florida Legislature bill signed by Governor Ron DeSantis authorizing the honorary designation, but local approval is required for implementation. The honorary renaming will include signage but will not change official addresses or emergency service designations. The resolution recognizes Trump's presidency, his economic policies, the establishment of the Space Force, and global diplomacy efforts, highlighting his deep political ties to Florida since becoming a resident in 2019. The renaming reflects Florida's shift toward Republican dominance and is supported by local officials who view it as a tribute to Trump's leadership and vision. Alongside this, another portion of the road will be named "PBSO Motorman Highway" to honor fallen law enforcement officers, with new signage expected by September if the vote passes.
