Wisconsin Man Sues Crunch Fitness Franchisee Over Trump Hat Removal
Michael Green, a 42-year-old gym member in Madison, Wisconsin, has filed a federal lawsuit against Crunch Fitness's franchisee, Fitness Ventures LLC, alleging he was wrongfully ejected for wearing a "Trump 2024" hat, claiming discrimination based on his political views and race. Police reports, however, indicate he was removed after reportedly screaming and cursing at other gym members attempting to exercise. Green contends this removal was retaliation against him as a Black Trump supporter and asserts that the gym violated the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by engaging in discriminatory practices. He is seeking $75,000 in damages to deter similar incidents in the future. Prior to this lawsuit, Green filed a similar suit against another Madison health club where he was also removed by police following allegations of harassing a manager over political differences. Green maintains he had worn Trump-related apparel on multiple occasions but had ceased due to staff and member reactions, yet believes he was targeted nonetheless.
