Trump, Republicans Push Widespread School Choice Expansion

This initiative is backed by 24 Republican senators who are advocating for legislation that would provide $10 billion in annual tax credits for donations to private school scholarship organizations. Several states, including Idaho, Tennessee, and Wyoming, have already implemented or expanded their school choice programs, with ongoing proposals in Kansas, New Hampshire, Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas. Supporters argue that school choice empowers parents to select the best educational settings for their children, particularly in areas with underperforming public schools.
