Ukraine Develops Policy to Share Priceless Battlefield AI Data

Ukraine is leveraging its vast battlefield data as a priceless strategic asset to strengthen ties and secure support from international allies, particularly the United States. Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized the careful policy development underway to share this data, which includes millions of hours of drone combat footage and meticulously logged battlefield statistics, crucial for training AI models in defense applications. Ukraine is also positioning itself as a testing ground for international defense firms, receiving nearly 1,000 applications to trial new weapons, with 50 systems already deployed. AI-driven advancements enable Ukraine's drones to operate autonomously in swarms and conduct long-range strikes deep inside Russian territory, significantly increasing target destruction rates. The use of AI extends beyond drones, assisting in tracking Russian strikes, combating disinformation, planning demining, and supporting frontline logistics with unmanned vehicles. These digital and technological strengths form part of Ukraine's negotiations for strong security guarantees and a just peace as President Donald Trump intensifies efforts to broker an end to the war.
