Darren Bailey Family Killed in Montana Helicopter Crash

On Oct. 22 a Robinson R66 helicopter crashed near Ekalaka, Montana, killing Darren Bailey’s son Zachary, his wife Kelsey and their children Vada Rose, 12, and Samuel, 7; their 10-year-old son Finnley was not aboard and survived. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash and has not released new findings. Hundreds of family, friends and community members gathered in Flora, Illinois, for visitations and a celebration-of-life service at the Oil Belt Christian Service Camp that emphasized the family’s devout Christian faith. Speakers recalled Zachary as a licensed commercial pilot who flew to deliver aid and said he was attending an aviation‑business convention when the crash occurred. The ceremony included worship music, readings and a slideshow, followed by a private burial.
