House Oversight Seeks Kamala Harris Testimony in Biden Autopen Probe
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has indicated that testimony from former Vice President Kamala Harris could be crucial in the committee's investigation into former President Joe Biden's mental fitness and the alleged extensive use of an autopen to sign documents during his administration. Comer suggested that Harris's testimony would help clarify whether Biden was truly in control of the White House, warning that the issue could impact her political future. Although a subpoena has not yet been issued, Comer stated the likelihood of one being issued to Harris is very high, and other Biden administration members, including former First Lady Jill Biden, have also been suggested for questioning. The committee has already interviewed several former Biden aides, including Ian Sams, whose limited direct contact with Biden and strong public defense of him raised questions about the accuracy of statements regarding Biden's mental acuity. Comer characterized Sams’s interview as the most informative to date and emphasized a pattern suggesting Biden was not leading the White House. This probe continues amid broader Republican efforts to scrutinize the Biden administration's transparency and leadership during his presidency.
