Arrest in Indiana Teen Stabbing Case
Dimas Gabriel Yanez, a 26-year-old Honduran national previously deported from the U.S. in 2018, was arrested in Indiana for stabbing a 14-year-old girl at a baseball game in Lowell. The attack occurred on August 31 when Yanez stabbed the girl in the hand and attempted to stab her mother before fleeing the scene. Following an extensive manhunt, Yanez was apprehended on September 1 while trying to alter his appearance by cutting his hair. Yanez, who has a criminal history and suspected ties to the international gang MS-13, has been involved in various crimes across multiple states since re-entering the U.S. illegally. The girl was treated and released from the hospital, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has been notified of Yanez's arrest.
