Armed police responded to two separate incidents in Cornwall on March 11, leading to significant public concern. In St Ives, a group of men, armed with a knife and a small firearm, forced their way into a home and stole a safe before fleeing the scene. A man in his 30s from Penzance was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and related charges. Later that day, police surrounded a car in the Treneere area of Penzance, where armed officers instructed a man to exit the vehicle. This operation was part of the ongoing investigation into the earlier burglary, although it remains unclear if the two incidents are directly related.
