Ukraine Launches Tender for Strategic Lithium Deposit in Kirovohrad

Ukraine has launched a tender for a production-sharing agreement to develop the Dobra lithium deposit in the Kirovohrad region, as announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. This tender is the first project under a Ukrainian-American investment fund established in April 2025, aiming to attract investors who will not only extract lithium but also develop value-added production within Ukraine. Lithium reserves at the Dobra site are considered strategically important for the energy and technology sectors. The process will include announcement publication within two months, a three-month application period, followed by the selection of an investor. The initiative is aligned with a broader agreement between Ukraine and the United States covering 57 strategically important minerals, including lithium, uranium, and rare earth elements, to support Ukraine's reconstruction and provide preferential access to U.S. partners. This move underscores Ukraine's commitment to developing its mineral resources sector and strengthening international cooperation.
