Uber, Waymo Expand Robotaxi Partnership to Austin, Georgia

Uber and Waymo are expanding their partnership to offer autonomous ride-hailing services in Austin, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia, starting in early 2025. Uber will manage a fleet of Waymo's fully autonomous, all-electric Jaguar I-PACE vehicles, which will grow to hundreds over time. This expansion follows their collaboration in Phoenix, Arizona, and comes amid a broader push by Uber for more autonomous vehicle rides, including partnerships with GM's Cruise and the U.K.'s Wayve. Waymo will continue to develop its autonomous tech and handle rider support functions, while Uber will manage fleet operations.
