Pinhead Gunpowder, the side project of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, has announced their first new album, titled 'Unt,' set for release on October 15 through 1-2-3-4 Go Records. This marks their first new music since 2008, with the title track now available for streaming. The band, which also includes Jason White, Aaron Cometbus, and Bill Schneider, has been on a long hiatus, focusing on playing music for themselves rather than for tours or albums since 2010. They describe their new work as their best and most collaborative effort, blending their classic 90s pop-punk sound. The album will feature 14 tracks, produced by Chris Dugan, who has collaborated with them in the past. The announcement comes after a recent security scare during a Green Day concert in Detroit, showcasing the ongoing activity and creativity within Armstrong's musical circle.
