Palm Beach County Officially Renames Road President Donald J. Trump Boulevard

Palm Beach County commissioners approved renaming a section of Southern Boulevard as "President Donald J. Trump Boulevard," honoring President Trump near his Mar-a-Lago estate despite some public opposition. The resolution, signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis, also designates another portion of the same road as "PBSO Motorman Highway" to honor three fallen Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies. The honorary designation is ceremonial, with mailing addresses and emergency services continuing to use the original Southern Boulevard name. Some residents opposed naming the road after Trump, citing his criminal convictions, controversial behavior, and potential to deepen community divisions, and requested separate votes for the two designations. The move adds to several Florida roads named after presidents, including those honoring Barack Obama, George H.W. Bush, and Ronald Reagan. Signage is expected to be installed by September, with public feedback to be collected afterward.
