Miami-Dade Deputy Arrested for Producing Child Sexual Abuse Material

Carle Miranda Blum, a Miami-Dade Sheriff's deputy, was arrested on federal charges for receiving and producing child sexual abuse material involving a 17-year-old victim. Prosecutors allege that in spring 2025, Blum traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, where she recorded multiple videos of herself engaging in sex acts with the minor. She faces charges carrying mandatory minimum sentences of 15 years for production and 5 years for receipt, with maximum penalties reaching up to 30 and 20 years respectively. Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz condemned the allegations as a betrayal of public trust and pledged full cooperation with federal authorities. Separately, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Crissmon-Stewart is under internal investigation for allegedly sharing sensitive body-worn camera footage and photos with friends and family, including private health information and images of victims, leading to his suspension with pay since June 4. The Harris County Sheriff's Office is conducting an ongoing Internal Affairs investigation into the matter.
