Baylor Dominates Tarleton State in Season Opener

Baylor opened their season with a dominant 45-3 victory over Tarleton State, highlighted by strong performances from several newcomers. Senior transfer quarterback Dequan Finn from Toledo impressed with a 39-yard touchdown run on the opening drive and finished with 192 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Sophomore Dawson Pendergrass also contributed with a 1-yard touchdown run. Defensive standout Keaton Thomas, a transfer from West Virginia and Northeast Mississippi Community College, returned an interception for a touchdown. Baylor's defense was particularly effective, holding Tarleton State to 0 yards in the first quarter and 181 total yards. The Bears face Utah on the road next week.
