Luke Newton to Star as McQueen in NY Play
Luke Newton, best known for his role as Colin Bridgerton on Netflix, will make his New York stage debut starring as Alexander McQueen in the Off-Broadway production House of McQueen at The Mansion at Hudson Yards. Written by Darrah Cloud and directed by Sam Helfrich, the play will begin previews on August 19, with its official opening set for September 9, 2025. The production explores McQueen's rise from London's East End to fashion stardom, delving into his creative brilliance, emotional struggles, and relationships, including with mentor Isabella Blow. Innovative staging with floor-to-ceiling LED panels will help portray the complexity of McQueen’s life. Executive producer Rick Lazes and McQueen's nephew Gary James McQueen are among the creative team. The play is expected to run for a year, with hopes for a future transfer to London.
