Prince William Announces Earthshot Prize Finalists

Prince William has announced the 15 finalists for the 2024 Earthshot Prize, which aims to spotlight innovative solutions to critical environmental challenges. Among the finalists is Kazakhstan's 'Altyn Dala' initiative, recognized for its successful recovery of the saiga antelope from near extinction and its extensive conservation efforts over a 75-million-hectare area. Other notable finalists include Coast 4C, an Australian social enterprise focused on regenerative seaweed harvesting, and a coalition protecting the Amazon rainforest. Winners will be awarded £1 million each at a ceremony in Cape Town on November 6. This year’s finalists demonstrate creativity and dedication in addressing pressing climate issues, reflecting the goal of the Earthshot Prize to inspire global action. The initiative continues to foster collaborations aimed at scaling impactful environmental solutions.
