Jack Hughes Undergoes Season-Ending Shoulder Surgery

New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes underwent season-ending shoulder surgery after suffering an injury during a game against the Vegas Golden Knights. The surgery, performed by Dr. Peter Millett in Vail, Colorado, was deemed necessary after Hughes collided with the boards in the game. He is expected to fully recover by the 2025 training camp. Hughes, who leads the Devils with 27 goals and 70 points this season, has been placed on long-term injured reserve, freeing up salary cap space ahead of the NHL trade deadline. The Devils, currently in a playoff position, face a significant challenge without their top player as they aim to maintain their standing in the Metro Division. This marks Hughes' second shoulder surgery in less than a year, following a previous procedure last April.
