Man Convicted of Arson, Murder in Maryland

Vincent Anthony Fisher, II, 49, was convicted of two counts of first-degree arson and two counts of second-degree murder for his role in a fatal fire that killed 27-year-old Rashawn Cline and her 18-month-old daughter, Dashawn, in Waldorf, Maryland, in March 2022. Fisher was involved in a physical altercation with two men before intentionally setting a fire on a mattress in the townhouse where he lived, after being informed he could no longer stay due to his drug use. The fire quickly spread, ultimately claiming the lives of the victims found in an upstairs bedroom. Evidence including video footage and Fisher's possession of lighters, along with PCP in his system, supported the charges against him. Prosecutors stated he faces up to 140 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for December 19, 2024. The case highlights the tragic consequences of domestic disputes exacerbated by substance abuse.
