Rob Burrow Honored at JustGiving Awards

Rob Burrow CBE, the late rugby league legend, was posthumously honored with a Special Recognition Award at the JustGiving Awards for his significant contributions to raising awareness and funds for motor neurone disease (MND). Burrow, who passed away in June at the age of 41, was recognized for raising over £15 million for MND charities, alongside his family and close friend Kevin Sinfield CBE. His widow, Lindsey Burrow, accepted the award, describing her husband as a 'beacon of hope and inspiration' to many, and emphasized the legacy he left behind which continues to inspire fundraising efforts. Lindsey also shared the emotional challenges of family milestones without Rob, highlighting the importance of his memory as they navigate life without him. Additionally, fundraiser Sam Perkins received the Outstanding Commitment Award for his work with the Stand Against MND charity, which has raised over £260,000 for MND research. The awards celebrated not only Burrow's achievements but also the collective efforts of the MND community in their fight against the disease.
