Steven Universe Spinoff Moves to Prime Video

A sequel series to Steven Universe, titled Steven Universe: Lars of the Stars, is in development for Amazon Prime Video and will focus on Lars Barriga's adventures as a space outlaw leading a pirate crew. The series promises intergalactic action as Lars and his crew smuggle contraband, evade authorities, and uncover secrets of the fallen Gem Empire. Rebecca Sugar returns as executive producer alongside Ian Jones-Quartey. The series was announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival during a panel by Cartoon Network Studios and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. This marks the first time a Steven Universe series will not air on Cartoon Network, signaling a shift to streaming platforms. Casting details and a premiere date have not yet been revealed.
