The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has significantly impacted India's workforce through the Skill India Mission since its launch in 2014, with millions benefiting from initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). Under PMKVY, which has trained approximately 1.5 crore youth nationwide, the programs have demonstrated high employment rates, with 94% of employers preferring PMKVY-trained candidates. In Uttar Pradesh alone, over 21 lakh youth have completed training under PMKVY, with around 17 lakh earning certifications. Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh government is training 30,000 youths as Surya Mitras to support solar energy initiatives, contributing to the installation of solar rooftops across the state. The MSDE's efforts, including district-wise training data and job fairs, reveal a strong commitment to enhancing employability within the region.
