SWITCH Mobility Launches Electric Buses in India

SWITCH Mobility, part of the Hinduja Group, has launched two innovative electric buses, the EiV12 and E1, aimed at transforming urban mobility in India and Europe. The EiV12 is India's first low-floor electric city bus with chassis-mounted batteries, featuring a battery capacity of over 400 kWh, designed for comfort and accessibility, accommodating up to 39 passengers. The launch, attended by key figures including Indian Minister Nitin Gadkari, emphasizes safety with features like automated wheelchair ramps and CCTV cameras. Meanwhile, Brisbane has launched an all-electric Metro bus fleet as part of its $1.55 billion project to decarbonize urban transit ahead of the 2032 Olympics, capable of carrying up to 170 passengers with fast-charging technology. These developments signify a global shift towards sustainable public transport, with SWITCH Mobility and Brisbane leading the charge in their respective markets.
