South Africa Announces Squad for 2025 Champions Trophy
South Africa has announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, including the return of fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi, who have been recovering from injuries. Nortje has been absent since September 2023 due to a stress fracture, while Ngidi has been out with a groin injury since October 2024. The squad, led by Temba Bavuma, retains ten players from the 2023 ODI World Cup squad, showcasing a blend of experienced and emerging talent. Newcomers to the senior ICC event include Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, and Wiaan Mulder. South Africa is grouped with England, Afghanistan, and Australia, starting their campaign against Afghanistan on February 21, 2025. The tournament will be held in Pakistan and the UAE, marking its return since 2017.
